Secrets Revealed Online Talk:

Gloucestershire Gardens Great & Small

Wednesday 24th July 1300hrs 1400hrs

In this month’s Secrets Revealed talk, we will be exploring gardens of all kinds in Gloucestershire.  We’ll start with the very first mention of garden in a Medieval document and see the many ways that people have created gardens, ranging from practical to ornamental, educational to therapeutic.

The talk will also look at the impact of social change and war on gardens, as well as the growing need to create gardens that can support nature.  This talk is being delivered as part of the Green Pledge Project at Gloucestershire Archives, made possible by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.  This is a two-year project to explore, share and expand the county’s environmental records.
