About the Council

Highnam Parish Council meets in The Gambier Parry Hall at 7.30 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month excepting August and December.

Fifteen minutes are allowed at the start of the meeting for a public forum.  When the meeting proper begins there is no public participation unless the council votes to suspend standing orders for a particular reason.  The parish council welcomes the public to the meetings and there is always a chance to meet the Councillors and discuss issues of concern.

If you would like to attend a council meeting, you will find an agenda on the site from about a week before the next meeting.  This website has on it a database of minutes of council meetings going back several years.

If you would like to be part of Hingham’s future why not see if you could join the council? Vacancies on the council sometimes arise, and you could co-opted. If you believe you have a talent, relevant profession or  a skill which could help the council please use the Contact form on this site, or speak to any of the Councillors.  Click here for more information.

Even if being a Councillor is not for you, there are volunteering opportunities now and we are expecting that there will be more in the future, so keep an eye on the volunteering section of this website.
